Activities & Entertainment
DAILY LIFE We help residents to continue to enjoy as wide a range of individual and group activities and interests as possible both inside and outside the Home and to carry on with existing hobbies, pursuits and relationships, and to explore new avenues and experiences. We encourage our residents to maintain contact with friends as much as possible and indeed to make new ones. Many of our residents are from the local area and the Home benefits from a steady stream of visitors on most days. Local amenities are a short walk from the Home and include shops, cafes, pubs, a library and a beautiful park is directly opposite.

“A great comfort to his family as well as him, was that the staff nurtured my father's keeping in touch with family and friends.” “The food and care and entertainment is wonderful”
Dining At St Andrew’s we recognise that meal times are a very important part of the day as they are both sociable and stimulating times. We have our own cook who prepares home cooked, appetising and nutritious meals daily. There is a varied, seasonal menu which is designed to meet all dietary requirements and also caters for our residents’ preferences. All our fresh produce is sourced from local suppliers. Staff and residents eat together, extending our ‘family feeling’ but meals can be served in a resident’s room if they prefer. Visitors are welcome to have a meal with their relative. Apart from the three main meals of the day, morning coffee & biscuits and afternoon tea with homemade cakes are served and evening drinks are available. Sample choice from our menu • Breakfast Fruit juice, cereal, porridge, eggs, bacon, toast & marmalade, fresh fruit. Tea or coffee. • Lunch Roast chicken, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, stuffing and gravy, or Braised Steak, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots and green beans or salad with ham, chicken or boiled egg. Dessert Homemade apple sponge or rhubarb crumble & custard, rice pudding or ice cream. • Tea and Homemade Cakes • Supper Homemade soup or sausage rolls, selection of sandwiches, cheese on toast. Fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, fruit mousses. • Coffee and tea and soft drinks are always available. • Alcohol is available with a meal if requested. • Extra snacks and drinks are available upon request throughout the day and night.
